Having won the contract to supply and install fitted bedroom and loose social space furniture at Carstairs, Knightsbridge Furniture turned to TeamFFE Limited to work with them to provide a professional project management and site installation service.
New furniture was an integral part of the total refurbishment of this high security psychiatric hospital, helping to create a calm, modern environment for staff and patients alike.
A truly unique project, the installation had to be completed within pre-agreed time schedules that had no room for slippage or delay due to set dates for transfer of patients and care services.
Knightsbridge Furniture chose TeamFFE to provide installation services following in-depth analysis of their services and capabilities.
From the outset it was recognised that this project required very special site procedures that included full security vetting for all members of the site management and implementation team.
Due to the nature of the complex security measures at this facility TeamFFE worked closely with the hospital administration, facilities and security departments, as well as Knightsbridge Furniture, to ensure the site team carried out the installation to exacting standards. These standards included a ‘one fit – final fit’ installation that resulted zero snagging issues.
TeamFFE Limited also carried out pre-start services that included sample room installations, site surveys and pre-start meetings. A full site H&S package was provided and all the site team were Disclosure Scotland vetted. TeamFFE gained approved contractor status with The State Hospitals Board for Scotland at Carstairs (part of the NHS in Scotland) as part of their site services.
